PRESS RELEASE: Women lobbied the Scottish Parliament in defence of their rights. Women are protesting against Nicola Sturgeon’s policy program which is detrimental to the rights and safety of women and girls. The Scottish Government's policy of Self-Id is where a male can identify as a woman simply on his own say so. This requires no medical intervention. Self-Id removes the rights of women and girls to single sex spaces and services. Males will be allowed in women’s changing rooms, prisons, hospital wards and any women only space. It will not be possible to request a female perform intimate services. And Self-Id will enable males to compete in women’s sports. The Scottish government cannot win this argument, so backed by the police and prosecution service they have created a hostile environment for those that speak out. Women risk a criminal record and up to seven years in jail - even stating that predatory males might take advantage of Self-Id is potentially a hate crime. Today women are making a stand and letting Nicola Sturgeon know women will not be silenced. ENDS PoC –
