Carly Elizabeth Simon Was Born 25 June 1945 in New York. She had been singing sice the mid sixties with her sister but her career took off in 1971 when she recorded Carly Simon or Elektra Records. Her first hit contained the song 'That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be' and was followed quickly by the album "Anticipation" which also receved considerable airplay. That was followed the next year by "1972s Youre No Secrets" which gave rise to a number of hits including 'You're so vain'. There has been continual speculation over who the song was about, candidates include Jagger, Beatty, Kristerffossen, Stevens and Taylor among them. "Hotcakes" followed in 1974 and "Playing Possum" in 1975. Then came "the Best Of Carly Simon" and "Another Passenger" in 1976. In 1977 She had a hit with 'Nobody Does it Better' the hit song of the current James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me. She has continued through the 80s and 90s and the 2000s and now lives with her family on Martha's Vineyard writing children's books. In 1999 'The Very Best of Carly Simon, Nobody Does It Better' - a UK only greatest hits albums was released.
