Port Isaac is a fishing village in Cornwall. It's name in Cornish is "Porthusek". The village surrounds a picturesque harbour and sits in a small and sheltered valley. The main area of the village is made up of pretty 18th and 19th Century fisherman's cottages with narrow streets and paths - one so small it has been given the nickname "Squeezebelly Alley". Port Isaac extends to incorporate the nearby harbours of Port Quin and Port Gaverne. Port Quin is mainly owned and run by the National Trust. It is sometimes referred to as "The Village that died", following the mysterious disapearance of the entire male population during the 19th century.
