Widely referred to as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll", she rose to prominence as the lead singer of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue before launching a successful career as a solo performer. She sold over 100 million records and received 12 Grammy Awards.

David Lloyd George was a British Liberal politician serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1916 to 1922. He was known for leading the United Kingdom during the First World War, social reform policies, his role in the Paris Peace Conference and negotiating the establishment of the Irish Free State.

Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary political leader who served as the first president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the country's first black head of state and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election.

Amy Winehouse was a British singer and songwriter. She was known for her deep, expressive contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues and jazz. Winehouse was plagued by drug and alcohol addiction. She died of alcohol poisoning on 23 July 2011 at the age of 27.

Freddie Mercury was a British singer-songwriter, who was best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Queen. Regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock music, he was diagnosed with AIDS in 1987 and died of complications related to the disease in 1992.

Alex Trebek was a Canadian-American game show host and television personality. John Lennon was an English singer, songwriter, musician and peace activist who achieved worldwide fame as the founder, co-songwriter, co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of The Beatles. He was shot and killed by a Beatles fan, Mark David Chapman, widowing his wife Yoko Ono.

Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut, aeronautical engineer, and the first person to walk on the Moon. He was also a naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor.

Walt Disney was an American animator, film producer and entrepreneur. A pioneer of the American animation industry, he introduced several developments in the production of cartoons. He was the first person to be nominated for Academy Awards in six different categories. In the 1950s he opened Disneyland in California.

Diego Maradona was an Argentine professional football player and manager, nicknamed "El Pibe de Oro". He was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award. During his career at Argentina, he earned 91 caps and scored 34 goals. One of his goals in the 1986 World Cup was voted "Goal of the Century" by FIFA.com voters in 2002.

Eddie Van Halen was an American musician and songwriter. He was the main songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist of the rock band Van Halen. Ruth Bader Ginsberg was an American lawyer and jurist at the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 until 2020. She was nominated by President Bill Clinton to replace retiring justice Byron White. Ginsburg was the first Jewish woman and the second woman to serve on the Court. She was dubbed "The Notorious R.B.G.", and she later embraced the moniker.

John F Kennedy, often referred to by his initials JFK, was an American politician who served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination near the end of his third year in office. Katherine Johnson was an American mathematician whose calculations of orbital mechanics was critical to the success of the first U.S. crewed spaceflights. Charlie Watts was an English musician and drummer for The Rolling Stones. He was nicknamed "The Wembley Whammer" by Jagger. In 1989, Watts was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame with the Rolling Stones. He's often regarded as one of the greatest drummers of all time.

Colin Powell was an American politician, statesman, diplomat, and US Army officer who served as the 65th United States Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005. He was the first African-American Secretary of State. During this time, he oversaw 28 crises, including the invasion of Panama and the Persian Gulf War against Iraq in 1990–1991.

Desmond Tutu was a South African Anglican bishop and theologian, known for his work as an anti-apartheid and human rights activist. He was Bishop of Johannesburg from 1985 to 1986 and then Archbishop of Cape Town from 1986 to 1996, the first black African to hold the positions. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for work involving anti-apartheid activism.

Sidney Poitier was a Bahamian and American actor, film director and diplomat. In 1964, he was the first African American actor to win the Academy Award for Best Actor. Poitier was granted a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II, awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the BAFTA Fellowship for outstanding lifetime achievement in film.

Mother Theresa, honoured in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary. She founded the Missionaries of Charity – 4,500 nuns across 133 countries. The charity helped people dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis. Teresa received the Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the Nobel Peace Prize.

Betty White, born Betty Marion White Ludden, was an American actress and comedian with a career spanning seven decades. She was the first woman to produce a sitcom in the USA, contributing to her being named honorary Mayor of Hollywood. White received eight Emmy Awards in various categories.

Doris Day, born Doris Mary Anne Kappelhoff, was an American actress, singer, and animal welfare activist. She was awarded the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in motion pictures. She was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a Legend Award from the Society of Singers.

Shane Warne was an Australian cricketer. A right-arm leg spinner, he is widely considered as one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history, and in 2000 he was selected by a panel of cricket experts as one of five Wisden Cricketers of the Century, the only specialist bowler and the only one still playing at the time.

Jean Paul Belmondo was a French actor who became a major French film star from the 1960s. Belmondo won the César Award for Best Actor for his performance in Itinéraire d'un enfant gâté, and was nominated for two BAFTA Awards throughout his career. In 2017 he received a lifetime achievement honor.

Grace Kelly was an American actress who became Princess Grace of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier III. Kelly appeared in eleven films before she retired from acting aged 26. She was nominated for for Best Actress for her role in The Country Girl (1954), and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance in High Noon (1952).

Jimi Hendrix was an American musician who was considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Born in Seattle in 1942, he began playing guitar at 15 years old. Hendrix played with several bands before forming the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1966. The band released three albums between 1967 and 1970. He died in 1970 at the age of 27.

Isaac Newton was an English mathematician, physicist, and astronomer who's widely considered to be one of the most influential scientists of all time and one of the fathers of modern science. He is best known for his work on the laws of motion and gravitation, whilst also making important contributions to optics and calculus.

Gracie Fields was an English actress, singer and comedian, beginning her career as a music hall performer. Fields became a successful film star in both Britain and the US, appearing in Sally in Our Alley (1931) and Sing as We Go (1934). She was also known for her humanitarian work during World War II, where she raised money for the various charities.

Lewis Carroll was an English writer, mathematician, and logician. He is best known for his children's books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, as well as the poems The Hunting of the Snark and Jabberwocky.

Janis Joplin was an American singer-songwriter and was one of the most successful musicians of her time. She was known for her unique, powerful voice and her bluesy, soulful style of music. Joplin rose to fame in the late 1960s with her band, the Kozmic Blues Band, and released several successful albums. She died of a drug overdose at the age of 27.

Audrey Hepburn was a British actress, model and humanitarian. She was one of the most popular actresses of the 20th century. Her films include Breakfast at Tiffany's, Roman Holiday and The Nun's Story. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for Roman Holiday.

Louis de Funès, born Louis Germain David de Funès de Galarza, was a French actor and director, and one of the most famous comedy actors of his generation. He is best known for his role in The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), The Longest Day (1962), Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), and The Great Escape (1963).
