This photograph captures the renowned Chain Bridge, also known as Széchenyi Chain Bridge (Széchenyi Lánchíd) in Hungarian. It stands as one of Budapest's most iconic and historic landmarks. I took this shot during an early morning stroll on what would turn out to be a sunny November day. The Chain Bridge spans the Danube River, connecting the Buda and Pest sides of Budapest, which were historically distinct cities but now together form the modern Hungarian capital. This suspension bridge was designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark and was completed in 1849. It embodies the prevailing neo-classical style of the late 19th century, with a subtle touch of neo-baroque elements. Notably, the bridge is graced with magnificent lion sculptures adorning each of its abutments. These majestic statues have evolved into iconic symbols of Budapest and were added to the bridge later in the 19th century - Széchenyi Lánchíd, Budapest, Hungary
