The Sullivan Center, formerly known as the Carson Pirie Scott and Company Building is a commercial building at the corner of State and Madison streets in Chicago's Loop. The building was designed by famed architect Louis Sullivan in 1899. Additions were made by also famed architects Daniel Burnham as well as the firm of Holabird & Root. The architectural gem is designated as an official Chicago landmark and is part of the Loop Retail Historical District. Additionally, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a United States National Landmark. It remains being used as retail shopping space after vacated by Carson, Pirie Scott & Company who ceased doing business at all of its stores in 2018. The State Street location was the headquarters store in Carson's once large network of stores.
