The former Katzenberger concrete plant becomes a creative destination as part of the SUGAR MOUNTAIN art and culture project. The convergence of art and sport, of cultural experience and lingering, makes it a meeting place for Munich residents and guests from all over the world. In its self-image as a HAPPENING PLACE, the place functions on the one hand like a creative experimental field or also like a modern art factory. On the other hand, Sugar Mountain intends to become a permanent institution in Munich's cultural life through dense programming. Our offer of urban movement areas is free of charge: skate park, basketball court, ping pong arena and boulder wall are always accessible. Beer garden and kiosk complete the infrastructure - it's a place to linger and meet friends! Sugar Mountain starts in July 2021 and has a planned runtime of at least two years. But even after that, the cultural heart of the newly built neighborhood will continue to beat here. In this sense, the project is designed to be long-term and sustainable.
