Informations supplémentaires:
A translucent red metal pergola above a wooden pedestrian walkway and public seating area is one of many improvements to the public spaces in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The walkway is on the eastern edge of Perk Plaza, previously known as the Chester Commons. The park was redesigned by Thomas Balsley Associates and McKnight Associates turning this public space into a welcome urban oasis. Arguments are made that public spaces such as these are needed to keep attracting new residents to downtown Cleveland, Ohio, USA. A tremendous increase in migration to downtown by those seeking out urban living has been experienced in Cleveland and outdoor urban spaces such as Perk Park are needed to meet the needs of this growing residential population. The park was renamed in 1996 to Perk Park, also known as Ralph J. Perk Plaza, for a previous mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
