Informations supplémentaires:
Hundreds of British Muslims protest outside the French Embassy in Knightsbridge against the satirical anti-muslim cartoons published by Charlie Hebdo. Groups attending included the far-right Islamist political party in Pakistan: Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan with placards reading: 'Islam is the religion of love and peace', 'Respect our Prophet' and 'Emmanuel Macron do not divide humanity'. Muslim protesters where heard chanting "Allahu Akbar" outside the embassy and seen pausing for a moment of prayer. Met police officers made a total of three protester arrests including two for Covid19 breaches and one for possession of pyrotechnics. French President Emmanuel Macron continues to defend the controversial Charlie Hebdo publication with its cartoon depictions of the Prophet Muhammad - which were used as justification for the decapitation of teacher Samuel Paty in the Paris suburbs two weeks ago. Highlighting also the recent knifeman multiple terror attack inside the Notre-Dame basilica, Macron has pledged to fight 'Islamist separatists' and said his country 'would not give up cartoons' nor 'give up on our values' despite fury at the caricatures.
