French liquor giant Pernod Ricard SA said sales in China and the U.S. are stabilizing but a return to its historical average growth of around 5% won¯t happen for at least another year. The company, which owns several brands including Martell cognac, Jameson whiskey and Absolut Vodka, said that its "mid-term objective" is sales growth rate of 4% to 5%. The company has been struggling in China and the U.S.ªits two most important marketsªfor over a year. Sales of its Absolut Vodka brand have fallen in the U.S., while an ongoing anticorruption drive by the Chinese government have continued to hurt Martell cognac. In the first three quarters of its 2015 fiscal year, sales in the U.S. declined 1% while sales in China, were down 3%. The U.S. comprises 15% of total revenues, while China makes up a 12% share.
