Sands China Ltd., the Macau casino operator controlled by billionaire Sheldon Adelson, said profit increased 3.3 percent as growth in mass-market gamblers partly made up for lower spending by high rollers. Third-quarter adjusted property earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization at the Hong Kong-listed unit of Las Vegas Sands Corp. rose to $811.6 million from $785.3 million a year earlier, according to U.S. parent Las Vegas Sands Corp.¯s earnings statement. That compares with the $799.3-million average of four analysts¯ estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Adelson this month said that he expects VIP gambling business in the city to see a recovery after casino revenue in the three months ended September fell 7.1 percent. He said Chinese players have been °staying below the radar± by refraining from going to Macau and spending money in ostentatious ways.
