Founded in 1957 by Roderick and Joy Cameron the gardens at Great Comp surround a stunning 17th Century Manor House. The gardens were Roderick and Joy's labour of love and contain wonderful herbaceous borders, an Italian garden, a fantastic Victorian Moon Gate, eccentric pathways through the rhododendrons and Magnolias, old ruins in the grounds and a fantastic tea room. A hidden gem found down Comp Lane in Platt, near Sevenoaks, Great Comp is a well kept secret in the gardening world. The garden is known for it's magnificent spring displays and for it's plant fairs and annual events. The stunning grounds make Great Comp Garden a must visit for plant fans and those keen on English country gardens and great cream teas.Curator William Dyson runs a splendid plant nursery on site selling an exhaustive range of Salvias and other plants.The Old Dairy Tearoom on site is open 7 days a week and offers fantastic home baked cakes
