Swedish-based electric carmaker NEVS, is launching a city mobility pilot program with support from Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Area (THT). Production of the Saab 9-3 has restarted for the second time, only this time the cars are being built in China, feature electric powertrains, and are to be sold under the NEVS brand. The first NEVS 9-3 rolled off a plant in Tianjin, China on Tuesday (5 December 2017), marking an important step in NEVS's plan to become a leading provider of sustainable mobility services. NEVS's plant currently has the capacity for 50, 000 cars per year but this is to be lifted to 220, 000 cars eventually.
