By contrast, the finely-detailed architecture and interior decoration of the tombs of Şehzade Mustafa (Mustafa-ı Atik) and Cem Sultan entitled them to a distinguished position among the tomb structures in Bursa. Cem Sultan was also laid to rest here in the tomb, which was erected in 1479 for Prince Mustafa (d. 1474), the son of Mehmed II. The entrance to the structure, which is of alternating courses of stone and brick construction, contains a shallow arch within a pointed barrel vault eywan; the eywan built of marble blocks is finished by deep eaves. Inside the tomb, which is covered by a dome resting on prismatic triangles, the walls up to a certain height are faced with glazed tiles in turquoise and dark blue and overglaze gilt hexagonal tiles; the upper portion of the walls is densely embellished by bands of prismatic triangles and the dome is traced with painted decoration on plaster and calligraphic compositions that have preserved their originality since the reign of Mehmed II.
