Las Caballerizas Reales de Cordoba (The Royal Stables of Cordoba) in the historical city of Cordoba in Andalusia, southern Spain On display of one of the riding outfits is a red ‘Galla’ ceremonial uniform worn by horse riders during the reign of Spanish King Felip 11 who founded the Royal Stables of Crodoba (Caballerizas Reales) at Cordoba in Andalusia, southern Spain. The ‘Gala’ is worn during the ‘Passion and Spirit of the Andalusian Horse’ Equestrian Show. The Royal Stables were built in 1572, the birthplace of the purebred Andalusian horse founded by Spanish King Felipe 11 who had a deep passion for the breed. In 1929, the stables were listed as a National Historical Monument and became part of the National Heritage. The Passion and Spirit of Andalusian Horse Equestrian Show with its riders and horses performing the skills of horsemanship such as dressage, musical dance, horse leaps, and a dance with a traditional flamenco dancer in the open paddock. Also on the skilful use and handling of a three-metre-long wooden ‘garrocha’ pole. It was originated for rounding up cattle herds on Spanish farms in the 17th century.
