Stable layout This 121-year-old structure was built to house the owner’s horses and carriages. Today, it is much more versatile and provides space to host meetings, receptions, and other gatherings for the community. "The restoration of DeBary Hall’s stable is a wonderful conclusion to years of renovation and construction at DeBary Hall , " said Pat Northey, District 5 Volusia County Council member. "It will provide another venue for local organizations to hold events, meetings and retreats. The land is beautiful, and the stable is equally so. We hope the community will enjoy it for generations to come.Today’s stable has the addition of modern amenities such as electricity, air conditioning, plumbing, a caterer’s serving kitchen, bathrooms and seating considerations. This building can seat 100 guests for reception programs, and 150 guests for meetings or speaking engagements. The project also included restoration of the exterior of the tenant house, a modest workers’ quarters. The tenant house is believed to be older than DeBary Hall and may have belonged to settlers who sold Frederick deBary the core acreage for his vacation retreat. Workers building the mansion may have lived in this house while working for DeBary.
