The panda on more solid ground BLACKPOOL ZOO, ENGLAND ADORABLE IMAGES of a red panda taken on November 25th 2023 precariously gripping onto a tree branch have been captured at Blackpool Zoo. Images show the five month old red panda siblings Akashi and Tashi playing in the trees before a slip causes it to wrap around the tree branch and rescue itself. The red panda, also known as the lesser panda, is a small mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has dense reddish-brown fur with a black belly and legs, white-lined ears, a mostly white muzzle and a ringed tail. The red panda is currently an endangered species with a decreasing population. These images were captured by photographer Gary Cox (53) from Manchester, England. Gary captured the adorable moment on his Canon 80D camera with Sigma 150-600mm lens at Blackpool Zoo, England. ?I saw that all the Red Pandas were active and playing together. You have to make the most of these times as a lot of the time you cannot see them, ? said Gary. ?Red Pandas are not always easy to view because they usually sleep up trees and you may just see a red shape. ?However, these may be more active as they are still very young and therefore have a lot of energy. ?I could watch them for hours. They are so captivating (and cute). It was particularly nice to watch the siblings interact and play with one another. ?The shot where the panda was falling off the branch and managed to scramble back up is one of my favourites I?ve taken. ?The two panda cubs are just five months old here. The cubs are called Akashi and Tashi. ?They were born to parents Alina (mum) and Tao Tao (dad). ?Anything in the animal kingdom is fascinating and unpredictable. Watching young animals just makes the experience so much more satisfying. ?You cannot help but smile as you watch them.? ENDS
