Bardolino name has Germanic origins, like all municipalities in Lake Garda, Bardolino also found many artefacts from Roman times, it is said that the invasion of the Lombards, Goths, Franks and Visconti documented dates the first appearance of name Bardolino . In the period between 829 and 856, there were battles between the communities of Verona and Lake Garda, in the late ninth century king Berengar gave permission to people all over the Lake Garda to build fortresses and strong for protect their territories.
