Caption: Jodphur, Rajasthan, India - Apr 2003. A man playing the flute inside Mahrangarh Fort, a 15th century palace and former residence of the Jodphur royal Family, Rajasthan. Rajasthan was once madeup of several small princly states, run by chiverlous and eccentric leaders who were renown for their extravagance and immense wealth. Denounced of their titles during the 1950's, the princes were given a comfortable public purse instead. The charity didnt last long, removed by Indira Ghandi twnety years later, the Princes faced the horrendous task of earning a living. Their only asset being illustrious and romantic castles, many of the princes have since converted their stately properties into tourist attractions.Mahrangarh Fort is now a museum, the best in the country.
