Tivoli Pond is a man-made pond at the southwestern end of Tivoli City Park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, created in 1880. It is close to the park's greenhouse and the rose garden, at the foot of Rožnik Hill, and has a cafe next to it. It has a small bronze plastic sculpture in it called Ribe ("fish"), depicting two vertically standing fish. The pond has been used for recreation, fishing, and as a flood-control reservoir, and it's home to a variety of native and non-native animal species. It also has served as a theme and a scene for visual artists and musicians. The green and wooded Tivoli Park is a favorite and a must visit place for visitors and locals in Ljubljana, where one can relax in its grass or take a pleasant walk through its woods, tree-lined paths, natural trails and open areas. It is the largest park in the city and has a greenhouse with a rose garden, a pond, several notable buildings and artworks scattered through it. Since 1984 it has been protected as part of a Nature Park, and it is home to a variety of bird species.
