Cute pair THE CUTEST images show a burrowing owl leaping over the other as if playing the game 'leapfrog.' These owls live underground in burrows, hence the name. They either dig themselves or take over burrows dug by a prairie dog, ground squirrel, or tortoise. Unlike most owls in which the female is larger than the male, the sexes of the Burrowing Owl are the same size as can be seen in the pictures. These adorable images were taken by Claudia van Baardwijk, a 52-year-old wildlife photographer from The Hague in The Netherlands. “It was amazing to be able to photograph these owls with my camera. They are generally well camouflaged, so they are easy to miss. I am glad I was able to spot them, ” she said. “I think owls are one of the most fascinating bird species to exist. They have this uncanny ability to look extremely wise yet very dorky at the same time, and I love capturing that. “I used a Sony A7 IV camera with 70-200 2.8 GMII lens to snap these images.” ENDs
