Subrenal aneurysm of the abdominal aorta. An aneurysm is a localized dilatation of the blood vessel wall (pouch of blood), of which the rupture can be deadly (hemorrhage). The main localizations of aneurysms are at the level of the cerebral arteries an the aorta, mainly beneath the kidneys (subrenal aneurysm of the abdominal aorta). The subrenal aneurysm of the abdominal aorta is often due to atherosclerosis.
