Informations supplémentaires:
Blue twilight sky, with pink grey clouds, view of wind-blown sand around a tree trunk with tall, slanting branch at one end, on a vast expanse of dry sand beach, some way out from Fairhaven, Lytham St Annes. The tidal range on the beach varies. A 7 metre high tide covers only a small section of beach, allowing large areas to dry out and blow in the wind. A 10 metre high tide, in contrast, will flood the beach and reach the coastline (behind the camera), leaving the beach wet at low tide. Tree remains, derived from bank erosion in the upper reaches of the River Ribble, are occasionally washed onto the beach by the high tide. This trunk, with a tall, slanting branch at one end, stayed for a few weeks before being washed away. Others, in contrast, may be washed nearer and nearer the coastline, where they may be cut up and removed. The low water channel of the River Ribble crossed the background beach. The Douglas Complex Gas Rig stands in Liverpool Bay, right background.
