Built 2006-2009. The Golden Ears is a1 km, six-lane cable-stayed bridge that spans the Frasr river and connects Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows to Langley and Surrey . The facility opened to traffic on June 16, 2009. Golden Crossing General Partnership was contracted to finance, design, build, operate and maintain the new bridge over a 35.5-year period. The GCGP is wholly owned by Bilfinger Berger Project Investments Inc. The Golden Crossing Joint Venture managed detailed design and construction. The Joint Venture combined Bilfinger Berger (Canada) Inc. and CH2M Hill Canada Ltd., which are Canadian branches of international engineering firms
