Attendant Craig Belcher, 24, denies murder, but was jailed for life for Kirsty's murder (19/03/99). * Kirsty Carver was murdered on March 5 1998 but not found until April 8. Her funeral took place with her family and police colleagues attending a private service at Hull Crematorium. Ms Carver was found at Spurn Point, East Yorkshire by officers engaged in the search for her. More than 3, 000 people answered a police appeal to mount one of the biggest searches ever seen in a desperate bid to find her. Petrol station attendant Craig Belcher was jailed for life on March 19, 1999, for brutally bludgeoning Kirsty to death with a hammer.
