In Buddhist meditation caves above sacred hot springs, Padmasambhava, (the great Buddhist tantric master re-transformed the pre-Buddhist religion of Bon into Buddhism) and his consort-bride, Yeshe Tsogyal, meditated in this secluded valley for seven years. It was in this sacred place toward the end of the eight century that Yeshe Tsogyal-daughter of the Tibetan King-Trison Detsun perfected the inner yogas and attained highest enlightenment. Her energy continues to inspire and suffuse the mind-stream of the nuns and yoginis who live and practice here , praising Yeshe Tsogyal for her spiritual accomplishments, Padmasambhava declared: O yogini who has mastered the Tantra, The Human body is the basis for realizing wisdom. Although the bodies of men and women are equally endowed If a woman has strong aspirations, her potential is higher. Tirdum, Tibet.
