Harrogate Spring Flower Show, 21 - 24 April 2016, organised by the North of England Horticultural Society and held at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG2 8NZ. Garden designers and landscapers created show gardens to provide ideas and inspiration for members of the public and the latest gardening trends were promoted. The show also featured the biggest exhibition by florists and flower arrangers in the country. The garden in this image, is 'A Wildlife Paradise' by Brookside Nurseries Ltd, which won a Silver Award. Created by designer and horticulturalist Alie Pearce-Ross, this organically inspired garden, explored ways of welcoming nature into an outdoor space. With a natural pond, bog garden and soft edging beds, it also had planting that provided a haven for birds, insects, amphibians and small mammals. It was constructed mainly from recycled materials and a rustic shelter, log piles and stone paving all added to the naturalistic appeal.
