Informations supplémentaires:
The oldest certified, continuously operating Talavera workshop in Mexico is the Uriarte Talavera factory. It was founded in 1824 by Dimas Uriarte, and specializes in traditional colonial-era fabrication. Now revived as an enterprise by a group of business persons whose enthusiasm is led by a wealthy American entrepreneur, it follows the exact Talavera fabrication handicraft method as in Colonial times. The individual handmade tiles are registered by the Mexican Government & signed by the individual who executes the colonial design painted on the product. Each piece is unique to that person. The company also encourages contemporary designers to make new designs for application to dinnerware, tequila cups etc. All acknowledge the craftsperson & artist. The showroom has beautiful accessories such as a restored Victorian couch / beautiful window grilles on the street. Unsurpassed elegance..
