Police issued an appeal to trace Gwilliam who they want to interview in connection with the murder of a businessman shot dead outside a pub. *West Midlands Police said officers were urgently attempting to trace Michael Arthur Bert Gwilliam, 41, in connection with the fatal shooting of Mark Karl Richards in September. Mr Richards, of New Invention, West Midlands, was gunned down shortly after 11.25pm on September 18 near the Brewers Droop pub in Wolverhampton Street, Willenhall, near Walsall. The victim, 34, was treated at the scene by police officers and then paramedics, but was pronounced dead soon after arriving at hospital. Gwilliam, who has worked in the transport business and has contacts both in Britain and abroad, is known to his family as Michael and to friends and associates as Mick or Micky. 18/09/02 : West Midlands detectives are appealing for information about this man, Michael Arthur Bert Gwilliam, 42, who they wish to trace in connection with the murder of Mark Richards on September 18 last year. Mr Gwilliam, originally from Willenhall, is also known to have connections in Bristol, Liverpool, the Republic of Ireland, north Wales and Shropshire. Police are keen to hear from anyone in these areas who may have information on his whereabouts.
