Informations supplémentaires:
Whilst it is not particularly high, there are some fantastic views to be enjoyed from the top of Castle Crag. We climbed it three times in a bid to get some shots across the Borrowdale Valley or up Derwent Water toward Skiddaw but despite staying up there for some time we had nothing but completely flat, grey and uninteresting light. To make matters worse, one of these ascents was actually up the Grange side where we found it impossible to hit the summit without some serious scrambling... So reconciling ourselves to not getting a shot from the top we watched for a forecast that would allow us to shoot the Crag from ground level...but again the elements seemed against us. But finally, on our last morning and as we were packing our cars for the journey home, the sun shone through a moody sky lighting up the foreground trees and the mist swirling around the top of the Crag. The previous night's snow across Cappel Crag and Thornythwaite Fell was a welcome point of difference for the background.
