During the Whitsun bank holiday weekend in May the bradford pothole club set up a winch chair cage at the mouth of gaping gill cave near Ingleton in the yorkshire dales national park. members of the public can go down into the cave via the winch. The Gaping Gill system is one of the country's longest and most complex cave systems. As well as the Main Shaft, the system has six other entrances; Bar Pot, Flood Entrance Pot, Stream Passage Pot, Disappointment Pot, Henslers Pot and Corky's Pot. These entrances unite underground, and the water sinking in the system eventually emerges into daylight at Ingleborough Cave. The Main Chamber of Gaping Gill, Britain's biggest known cave chamber is reached by descending the 105m Main Shaft (Britain's deepest shaft)
