The ceiling structure above the Stage in Longshan Temple is the best work in Taiwan; it was build during the reconstruction in the 11th year of Emperor Daoguang in Qing Dynasty (1831) and has the longest history among all preservation works in Taiwan. The Eight Trigrams Ceilings was built at the Stage area to create resonance effects during plays; besides the “Eight Trigrams (read as “Bagua”)” also has the meanings of keeping down evils and asking for safety.
