The Truvelo speed camera is the name given to different types of static speed camera that can be found in many locations across the UK, including static digital speed cameras and mobile speed cameras. The majority of UK motorists will not be pleased to hear that the Truvelo speed camera explained. It was the first front-facing static speed camera to appear on our roads. Its distinctive design is easy to spot with two circular lenses located on the front of the box. The forward facing Truvelo speed camera system will snap a speeding motorist by photographing the front of a passing vehicle which means that the photographic evidence will show a picture of the driver as well as an image of the offending vehicle. Another reason for motorists to be wary of the Truvelo speed camera is that it does not produce any visible ‘flash’ to warn of an impending prosecution! If you are a driver who is caught breaking the speed limit in the UK by a Truvelo speed camera you can expect a maximum of 3 penalty points on your license together with a £60 fine. The value of the fine is currently under review by the British government and is likely to rise in the near future.
