The Palling Volunteer Rescue Service (PVRS) provide an inshore rescue service between Happisburgh and Winterton. Totally reliant on voluntary contributions and fund-raising, they have no connection with the R.N.L.I. but do answer to the Great Yarmouth Coastguard via a paging system. "Our boat is equipped with modern search and rescue equipment which includes a G.P.S. with chart plotter, 2 V.H.F. Marine radios and vital life saving equipment inc. first aid equipment and Oxygen administration which we have recently been trained and certificated for." In May 2009 a donation by the 24 hour parcel firm City Link, employer of one of the volunteers Mick Clarke, paid for more Baltic 1515 rescue vests (Lifejackets). These pictures resulted from a commisioned press shoot with the crew and City Link's Norwich branch manager Nick Long.
