The Swamp Wallaby 'Wallabia bicolor' is a small marsupial from eastern Australia. Also known as the 'Black Wallaby', this wallaby goes by other names such as 'Black Pademelon' , 'Black-tailed Wallaby', Fern Wallaby, or 'Stinker' in Queensland. The Swamp Wallaby is found along the entire Eastern side of Australia and into the south-east 'Victoria'. They used to be found in South Australia, but in modern times they are considered rare. The Swamp Wallaby inhabits mainly forests and woodlands, however as a shy animal they love to shelter during the day in thick undergrowth of bushland, grass or ferns.
