The Armstrong family section of the churchyard is in a poor state, with some of the memorials vandalised and the area dark due to overhanging trees.The legible section of the inscription reads In memory of the Right Honourable William George 1st Lord Armstrong of Cragside C.B. F.R.S. born November 23d 1810 died December 27th 1900 aged 90 years.
