Outhouse is an outdoor project for public art, located in the Northern Quarter's Stevenson Square, Manchester. Every three months the three blocks of the old, disused public toilet block in the centre of the square will be re-worked. Since 2010 the project has been supported by arts and crafts shop, Fred Aldous, sponsoring the artists' materials, and Eastern Bloc and Soup Kitchen on food duty while the artists are at work. A start has also been made to give the square a green make-over by planting out the roof of the old toilet block with, among other things, edible plants chosen by local residents and businesses. The young boy, painted at the western end of the toilet block, is the son of street artist Akse, a French graffiti artists of Vietnamese origins, based in Manchester since 1997. The long wall pencil artwork is by street artist 'Used Pencil'. The metal pavement posts have the paste-ups of colourful crayons by street artist D7606. A view towards Spear Street.
