Freddie is the son of 1976 Formula One World Champion James Hunt and was born on June 1987 in England and in 2007 Freddie signed with Joe Tandy Racing (JTR) to drive in British Formula Ford. After a successful season with JTR recording 25 races and 37 Championship points, Freddie moved to Buchbinder Racing to drive in the ADAC Formel Masters and ADAC Cruze Cup between 2008 and 2012 before getting injured ruling him out of the 2013 season. Fully fit again Freddie has teamed up with Tiga Racing owned by Mike Newton the CEO and founder of the AD Group to test drive and develop a Le Mans LMP2 car. Freddie has also signed with M&N Racing to drive alongside Mathias Lauda, son of three time Formula One World Champion Niki Lauda in the MRF F2000 which races across the Middle East and India. Whilst Freddie’s father was a Formula One World Champion, Freddie’s ultimate goal isn’t to race in Formula One but rather to compete in and win Le Mans, of which Mike Newton has done it twice in the LMP2 class in 2005 & 2006 and commented “It is clear that Freddie has a natural talent, and we are very excited to be working with him to develop this skill to fulfill his Le Mans ambitions” Away from racing Freddie is a Driver Ambassador and Sustainability Spokesman for Formula E.
