Local Chinese resident Mr. Guo compares a mini egg with an ordinary one on his palm at home in Qingdao city, east China's Shandong province, 22 September 2014. An ordinary hen in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong could become a hero and bring honor to its owner as the mini eggs it laid days ago might break a Guinness World Record as the smallest eggs in the world. Mr. Guo, a local resident in Qingdao city, found a number of mini eggs, much smaller than ordinary ones, in the nest of his hen over the past days. It had laid as many as six tiny eggs in one day, said Guo. They looked ordinary except their sizes but there was only egg white without yolk in such egg, he added. The smallest one is only a little more than 1 cm long, much smaller than the current 2.1cm-long Guinness World Record holder for the world's smallest egg found in the eatern Chinese province of Anhui. Mr. Guo said he was considering to apply to break the record.
