South Street Seaport Schermerhorn Row Fulton Street Manhattan New York City. Ann Taylor Store in Schermerhorn Row. Between Fulton St and South St. This brick warehouse built in 1811 by owner Peter Schermerhorn now form a network of designer shops and galleries. If we come from Fulton St. first thing we see is a lighthouse (built in memory of those who died in the sinking of the Titanic) announcing the South Street Seaport Museum 12 $ (Mar-Sat 10am-6pm). The museum, open since 1967 and occupies 11 buildings in the area, explains the history of this port since its inception and one dives into the world of big ferries. In the neighboring buildings there are plenty of shops, such as the official store of the NY Yankees, or the GAP clothing chain, which has been installed in what was the old market Futon. Upstairs you can also see renowned exhibitions, such as that of "Bodies" that has generated so much interest worldwide.
