A Chinese hotpot fan prepares hot-pot at a ski resort on Xiling Snow Mountain in Dayi county, Chengdu city, southwest China's Sichuan province, 16 December 2014. A dozen hot pot fans attended a hot pot feast at a ski resort on Chengdu Xiling Snow Mountain earlier this week. The event was reported to have been organized through "Huaxiyanwei, " an official WeChat account belonging to Huaxi Metropolitan Daily. It took over two hours for the group to reach their destination, reports the paper. The WeChat group chose "Weishuwu Hotpot, " rated in the top 10 for hot pot restaurants in Chengdu this year, to prepare and cook the food onsite. "I've been cooking hot pot for my customers for 10 years, however this is the first time that I have cooked hot pot in the snow. It's actually quite convenient to eat and cook in the snow as the Xiling Snow Mountain acts as a natural fridge, and the temperature there is good for preserving the food, " said a worker from Weishuwu Hot pot. "It's beautiful! I'd dreamed of eating hotpot in the snow. Now my dream is fulfilled, " a fan excitedly told reporters. A web user commented, "I didn't think that cooking hot pot at such a high altitude would work, but it was wonderful to eat in such beautiful surroundings." According to reports, the aim of the event was to promote the Chengdu-style hot pot.
