The operators of a Wulong tourism site in southwest Chinas Chongqing Municipality are dragging the makers of Hollywood blockbuster Transformers: Age of Extinction to court for not giving them credit in the film. The picturesque county of Wulong served as a location for the film, but the name of Wulong does not appear in the film, said Chongqing Wulong Karst Tourism (Group) Co Ltd, the operator of the scenic spot, Chongqing Daily reported. The company will file suit at the Chongqing No.3 Intermediate Peoples Court, according to Li Chu, marketing manager of the tourist attraction. Wulong and 1905 Internet Technology Co Ltd, a co-producer of the movie, had signed a contract stating that China Wulong would be prominently displayed in the film. Huang Daosheng, general manager of the company, said because the producers failed to give them credit in the film there had been a negative impact. Audiences have no idea that portions of the film were shot in Wulong, Instead, they believed it was shot near Hong Kong. Some other tourist spots in China were found to have used the Wulong scenery for commercial gain, he added. Wulong plans to sue both 1905 Internet Technology Co Ltd and Paramount Pictures. As of Monday (7 July 2014), the blockbuster film had collected 1.38 billion yuan (US$222 million) from box office on the Chinese mainland.
