East Lothian, Scotland, UK A replica WWI Sopwith LCT 11/2 Strutter aeroplane being constructed by Aviation Preservation Society of Scotland volunteers have constructed a new build to the original design using modern materials of a two-seater reconnaissance and fighter biplane used during WWI. Wing wires are made by the same factory supplying the original planes. Its airworthiness certificate has been delayed by Covid-19 but the engine is almost ready for testing; and it will make its debut flight from the county later this year or early next. The project started in 2000, so it has taken 21 years to get to this stage
