This is a bit embarrassing. Born in London and not now living far away, I don't know much about Portobello Road Market, or indeed about the district of Notting Hill in West London where it is situated. Fact is I know Notting Hill from watching bits of its annual Carabean festival, and as for the market, although visited for the first time, Friday in winter (albeit a bright but cold day) apparently Saturday is the best busiest day to visit. If anyone is offended by my lack of knowledge about this bit of London, I would welcome an e mail with a mote informative description. In the meantime, Wikipedia is the best bet.
