The Csíksomlyó monastery was built together with the Gothic church in the 15. century. The Franciscan taught the neighbourhood children staining because of the beginnings already before only on a positive degree, then on a taller level. The Csíksomlyó grammar school's first reference originates from 1630. The monks restored the church and the monastery after the 1661 Turkish devastations of Hungary, then in 1667 the grammar school founded. The Franciscan founded a press, which was one of the most important distributor of the Transylvanian education until the end of the 19. century, in 1675. This was the only Transylvanian Catholic press until founding the Jesuit of Kolozsvár for an academy's press until 1727. His principal founder the erudite scholarly monk Kájoni János, whose first church songbook with a Latin Hungarian language appeared in 1676 here, was a Father. A book publisher worked beside the press later, where the press's products it was bound, it was resumed concerning the library's volumes. The monastery's library was one of the richest church collection of Transylvania where they collected the valuable volumes since centuries already. Between them several incunabula, a Codex and a book curio painted can be found. The rich substance it due, that the library survived the period of the reformation and the wars luckily.
