Informations supplémentaires:
View SW of Jesus Well in an enclosure between greens on the St Enodoc Golf Links at Rock, Cornwall, England, UK. Rectangular well house over an ancient holy well rebuilt in the C19th & restored in the C20th. The entrance in the N gable end has a reused granite four-centred head. It has a corbelled stone rubble roof & there is a niche inside the S end wall which can be used for offerings or to hold an effigy, crucifix or drinkinging cup. The well has a reputation for healing & there used to be a chapel close by. St Enodoc, whose church 1km to the N is reputed to have baptised his converts here. The well is also associated with St Minver & legends assert that the boy Jesus visited here with Joseph of Arimathea when in Cornwall on tin trade business. The threshold slate reads: JESUS WELL / JESUS SAITH UNTO HER / GIVE ME TO DRINK / Timor Domini Fons Vitae. (The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, Proverbs 14:27)
